Elsie Oil #3, unframed, oil on board;  17 1/4" tall x 24" wide. Unsigned.  Depicts Ozarks town ca. 1930s.  Mostly sepia colored with a road running back to the edge of town.  Well executed, in great condition.

1884 Letter to Gus Avery sent on New York Ontario & Western Railway Co. letterhead.  Sent initially to Rome, Italy then forwarded to London, England.  The letter is from A.C. Avery of Clinton, Mo.  Numerous references to family: Clara at Mr. Colt's party, Walter picking the last summer cherries, etc.  $75  +S/H < Link

1969 Letter to Louis Freund in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, from the Libbey Memorial Physical Medicine Center thanking him for a painting of their therapeutic pool.  Unrelated note on back of letter refers to a recipe for "Country Corn Bread" on page 296.  $50  +S/H < Link

Three postcards not pictured: one of Louis' etching of the an Ozark Blacksmith Shop, another by Elsie Bates Freund "Hill Farm" with inscription on back and 1975 Christmas greetings to Mr. Jan Bullock of Eureka Springs, and signed Elsie and Louis; and a third card (color) of Hatchet Hall with a letter on reverse addressed to "friends" and unfinished.  Also not pictured: a booklet published by Florida Craftsmen entitled "Elsa Freund Modern Pioneer."  A second booklet "The Art of Louis Freund" as well as a dozen photogravure prints torn from books that Louis used for inspiration.  $200 for all  +S/H < Link

This bow at left belonged to Louis Freund and there is still a faint signature in pencil on it. 

I showed this to a weapons collector.  He believes it is an authentic Indian boy's bow, now missing the string and arrows.  (An adult bow would have been much larger.)  I'm not sure what kind of wood it is but some of the old rawhide lashing still remains.
